A download template produces a list of all the names of students on each subject tab in accordance with the way they are allocated to subjects/classes in Teaching Manager. I have had occasion when I have had to remove a number of students from a list because they have either dropped a subject or been entered into a different level of exam or into a scholarship paper, etc. Because I want to copy and paste into the template from an exam results spreadsheet, I don't want to have to copy and then go through every subject sheet to shift the results down for every missing pupil.
This has to be done because I have found to my cost that if any name rows are deleted the system doesn't recognise the deletions when the sheet is uploaded - it assumes that all the names are listed as they were in the downloaded template and populates marks accordingly.
This could be easily prevented if the download also included UPNs. Any upload of results would then be correctly allocated to the correct students even if there were gaps in the name rows.
